Sunday, Day One

Bonswa! Good news, bad news. Posted a blog this morning, but deleted post this evening. Go figure, huh?! So, I will be brief because it's been a long day and a few of us are sitting on the roof top and a mosquito just bit me! Yes, Mom...I'm taking my anti-Malaria meds (ha).

Our day was very busy; 2.5 hour beautiful church service and packaging approximately 10,000 pills for the weeks distribution. Ok, ok, maybe not 10,000 buy at least 9,800!

We arrived safely to Haiti late yesterday. Haiti has a new airport so the arrival process was very nice and friendly. We have 12 on this crew; 11 from Indiana and Pat (I call him boy Pat because we have a girl Pat) he's from California.

So we have many RN's, a Pharmacist, a Dental specialist, Boy Pat is a PT, a Paramedic, Nurse Practioner,  and then there's me. Not a nurse, never been to Indiana, but Hoosier is one of my top 5 movies. So I feel connected! I like how they all reference, Indiana as "Indi".

Tomorrow we begin our first mobile medical outreach at a Village not too far from NVM. We are expected to see 100 patients, so the day will be busy, but no doubt rewarding. I'm very excited to be back in Haiti and prepared for a busy week. I've been waiting for this trip for months and really ready to be "all in"! With God's blessing, we will to make a difference this week and help some patients that need medical assistance. Prayers always welcomed for safe travels to and from the Villages and for our team to be effective this week.

Orevwa!!

Pics: packing medications; our tap-tap transportation bus (Life is GOUD...love that); me on rooftop this morning; and remember "Where's Waldo", find me!!
